Built by an engineer, for the people who run hiring loops.
Provicio is a small software company run by Ben Winter, an engineer by training and by trade.
“I built Provicio because I kept getting the same ten questions from every recruiter who called me, and every resume that came across my own desk always seemed to come to me through a convoluted process that didn't work very well, given how complex and expensive it seemed to be.”
It started as an AI skills-assessment tool: paste a job post, get a tailored technical assessment in seconds. That product still exists and still works, and you can read about it here. But in conversations with engineering leaders and staffing owners through 2026, the same problem kept coming up before assessment was ever relevant: the person on the resume and the person on the call weren't the same person. Not always in the literal sense, though increasingly that too. Mostly in the sense that the resume described work the candidate couldn't talk about.
Existing answers were either heavy (in-person interviews, background-check vendors, forensic identity tools) or theatrical (“AI fraud detection” that couldn't say what it detected). What seemed missing was something a hiring manager would actually do: ask the candidate to talk about their work, listen for whether they could, and write down what was and wasn't supported. Provicio is that, made repeatable.
How we work
Small, direct, and honest about limits. The how it works page says what the product doesn't catch. The trust page says which compliance boxes aren't checked yet. If you book a call, you get the founder, and if the product isn't right for you, you'll hear that on the call rather than three weeks into a trial.
Provicio is in early access with a small group of founding customers. If you hire remote engineers or place technical talent and you've been burned, we'd like to talk.
